Hi, I’m Gus! Welcome to Gus On The Run!

I am originally from Puerto Rico and moved to Texas towards the end of my high school years. I am definitely what you could call an adventure junkie who has said yes one too many times to crazy ideas.

It wasn’t until 2016 that the travel bug really hit me and I have been trying to explore more ever since. The summer of 2016 was my first long road trip which had me visiting 5 states on what can be explained as the craziest road trip of my life. Trust me when I say you will never miss a good shower more than after living out of a tent for over 14 days, and coin operated showers DO NOT COUNT!

Ever since that trip and coming out of my comfort zone to explore the South West of the United States, you could say the travel bug got me! Since then I have travelled abroad for the first time in my life to Mexico, South America and Southeast Asia multiple times with plans to visit every continent in the coming years.

The goal of this blog is to help document and share my experiences travelling and hopefully spread that travel bug to as many people as possible! One thing I want to get across with this blog is just how inexpensive it can be to travel abroad if you do things right. Of course Paris and London will undoubtedly be expensive but have you ever seen how gorgeous Cartagena, Colombia is? How about Cusco, Peru?

There are so many places around this world that people cross out due to thinking they cant afford it or don’t “appear safe” but I am here to clear that up!
