Enchanted Rock One Day Epic Loop

    June 25, 2020 / 10 Comments

Enchanted Rock State Park is fast becoming one of my favorite State Parks in Texas for multiple reasons. The first reason is just how centrally located it is to so many major cities in Texas and secondly for how much fun you can have by combining multiple trails for all levels of hiking fitness. During my first trip to Enchanted Rock we combined the most popular trails to make a nice 4-5 mile loop that showcases the highlights of Enchanted Rock. Summit Trail Echo Canyon Trail Base Trail Turkey Pass Trail Frontside Trail Summit Trail 1.6 Miles The Summit Trail is the highlight of the park and for most people…

    Enchanted Rock Summit Trail

    June 18, 2020 / 4 Comments

Enchanted Rock State Park is one of my favorite and most accessible parks in all of Texas. It is located right outside of Fredericksburg, Texas which is centrally located near Austin and San Antonio. I recently visited the park for the first time as a way to get out of the house during our Covid19 quarantine times. You can read more about my first visit HERE and how the new safety protocols Texas State Parks have implemented might alter your visit. You can also read about my tips on travelling during the new health crisis we live in HERE. The Summit Trail The Summit Trail at Enchanted Rock is the…

    Enchanted Rock State Park

    June 4, 2020 / No Comments

Enchanted Rock State Natural Area is a must do stop for everyone in Texas and one that has been on my bucket list for quite some time. The park contains the largest pink granite monadnock in the United States which rises 425 feet above the surrounding area with an altitude of 1,825 feet. The State Natural Area is part of the Texas State Park system and sits right outside of Fredericksburg, TX which is less than 2 hours from San Antonio and Austin, and right around 4 hours from Dallas-Fort Worth and Houston. This means if you are a fan of road trips there is no reason you cannot make…

When I Almost Died In Colombia

    May 28, 2020 / 5 Comments

Accidents while travelling abroad are not something new to me but there is one accident in particular that I dont think i will ever forget. During our mountain biking trip in the outskirts of Medellin I decided to take a break from riding and do the upcoming hill in the support vehicle that had been following us for the entire day. Now looking back at this, I probably should have not been lazy and riden up the hill but come on we are mountain biking and the fun part is going downhill. At this point while my travel partner and the other rider went up the decently steep hill myself…

How To Travel From Medellin to Salento Colombia

    May 21, 2020 / 3 Comments

Travelling in Colombia is always an adventure and one that I truly enjoyed the entire time even if it wasn’t always comfortable. While I sometimes joke about feeling scared and creeped out part of the fun the journey to the destination. I also do my best to show you what to do in order to not make the same mistakes I made throughout my time travelling Colombia. Our journey from Medellin to Salento was one we planned just a day or two before we actually headed that way. After researching online we could not find an easy way to just fly to Salento and to be honest got confused at…

    Mountain Biking Medellin Colombia

    May 14, 2020 / No Comments

Mountain Biking was not on the top of our list while visiting Colombia and truthfully not something we knew was even a popular thing to do in the area. While searching for day trips around Medellin we accidentally stumbled upon the 2000M Descent website and immediately knew it had to be on our list. We had no true idea on what to expect on this tour since we truly are not die hard mountain bikers and in all honesty have no real bike skills. But when on a South America vacation you might as well try anything that comes your way! Setting Up The Tour After contacting the compay and…

    May 7, 2020 / No Comments

Guatape, Colombia is one of the must do day trips from Medellin and one of the first things we planned when deciding to stop in Medellin. Most people do not know where or what Guatape is but they do know a very specific landmark in the town that big rock. The drive from Medellin to Guatape takes about two hours depending on the bus or tour you take but it is completely worth it! Why should you use a tour company After a lot of online searching through forums we decided to go with a tour company to maximize our time in Medellin and make sure we made the most…

Medellin Colombia – City of Eternal Spring

    April 29, 2020 / No Comments

Medellin Colombia once known as the deadliest city in the world has now become one of the top cities to visit in South America. The city has come a long way from the days of Pablo Escobar and the cartels we see on the Netflix show Narcos. The city is not just leaps and bounds safer but has built an astonishing robust public transportation system consisting of new train cars and metro cars that can take you to all corners of the city efficiently and cheaply. I was astonished at just how easy it was to navigate around Medellin and how much we could actually see in one day just…

The last part of my trip took me through most of Colorado and through some of the most scenic drives I have done in my life. If you haven’t seen the previous parts see Part 1, Part 2, Part 3 and Part 4! Ridgway, Colorado My first stop in Colorado was in Ridgway to spend a few days at the Ridgway State Park for a bit of boating and camping. This was the first time I have spent time in this area of Colorado and it was quite impressive. The best part about Ridgway was its proximity to some of the coolest places I have ever been too! Telluride, Colorado…

After being at probably one of the most popular National Parks and iconic places in the world, I ended up at what will become one of my favorite places at heart. Zion National Park is located in southwest Utah and is iconic for its red skyrocketing cliffs. Zion is a mystifying place that really captures the imagination with the amount of hikes and scenery that you can take in. The…
