Machu Picchu – Peru Inca Trail Day 3

    December 5, 2019 / No Comments

The day had finally come to to visit Machu Picchu the main reason we had made the long trek through Peru. This would also be our final day with the Lorenzo Expedition crew before we departed back to Cusco. The start of the day for getting into Machu Picchu starts extremely early around the 4:30am mark. This is for quite a few reasons, one being you get to see an amazing sunset if the weather permits as you either hike the stairs or take the bus up. Secondly Machu Picchu isn’t a secret gem and if you want to get inside when it isn’t packed to the brim, you must…

Santa Teresa – Aguas Calientes – Preu Inca Trail Day 2

    November 28, 2019 / No Comments

Leaving Santa Marta was a rough start for us due to what turned into quite an epic night at what could only be called a house turned into a bar. We had breakfast with our guides and travel partners and headed off for the day. Day 2 meant we had two options to start the adventure, with some of the group opting on the optional zip line activity. I ended up doing the hike with two other travel partners that would take us roughly 3 hours through a gorgeous scenic route and would let us hike into the Machu Picchu National Park, something the zip line group didn’t get to…

Cusco – Santa Maria – Santa Teresa – Peru Inca Trail Day 1

    November 21, 2019 / No Comments

Day 1 of our Inka Jungle Trail to Machu Picchu started extremely early with a 5:30am departure time which meant a 4:30am wake up call. This was harder than usual due to some very late night karaoke, some unnecessary drinks but a completely necessary fun night! We where picked up by our guide from Lorenzo Expedition outside of our hostel and made a quick stop to pick up a group of backpackers from London and Berlin who would join us for the rest of the trip. Now at first we where worried we would be stuck with some strangers we wouldn’t like but the grouping turned out amazing! The first…

5 Tips For Your Next Peru Trip

    November 7, 2019 / 7 Comments

If this is your first time visiting Peru just like it was mine, there are quite a few things you must take into account to stay safe, healthy and get the most out of your time in such a great country. Water The water in Peru is definitely not considered potable water and only bottled or treated (disinfected) water should be ingested by visitors. Some people take this advice to different extremes and might obsess over it or throw caution to the wind. While you might not catch a deadly disease or infection form consuming tap water in Peru, you might be spending a couple days attached to a toilet.…

    Peru Land Of The Incas

    October 24, 2019 / No Comments

Peru seems to be on everyone’s travel plans the last few years and there’s a good reason for it! Our trip to Peru seemed to pop out of nowhere like most trips that we tend to go on. South America was always on my list of places to visit and Peru seemed like a perfect spot to start our journey through the Gringo Trail! The highlight of our trip to Peru and the main reason we went to visit Peru was to make the trek to Machu Picchu and see the ancient Inca city. We originally were not sure how we would do this but knew we would need some…
