Spring Break 2017 – Part 2

Spring Break 2017 – Part 2

The second part of our Pacific Northwest trip took us to Seattle and the greater part of Washington State.

We spent a few days in Washington mainly near Seattle at one of our close family’s house. We spent the first day exploring the outskirts of Seattle and had a blast at the Snoqualmie Falls which where just breathtaking even though it was a bit foggy.

We then headed into Seattle and spent most of the day exploring the area. Our first stop was at the Pike Place Market and oh boy was it raining non-stop our entire time there.

We spent quite some time in the market and loved just shopping around and even stopped at the famous gum wall!

I also couldn’t resist but to go get a cup of Pike Place coffee at the original Starbucks store!

After Pike Place market and driving around town a bit, we ended up in one of my favorite parts of the whole trip. We decided to take the Underground Tour of Seattle which I saw is a MUST! The tour covers the underground part of Seattle that was built after the great fire of June 6, 1889. It was amazing and informative tour of the past history of Seattle and shocking at how it was all rebuilt.

We decided to skip the Space Needle since the weather just want great for seeing views of the city and we didn’t want to waste our money.

The one thing I am glad we did make time for before heading out to Vancouver B.C. was the Chihuly Glass Museum.

I had never heard of this place until I started researching what museums where a must in the area and I have to completely agree that this is a MUST SEE! I had never heard of Chihuly before but have seen his work at the Belagio Hotel in Las Vegas and it is stunning.

Overall the pictures do not do justice to just how impressive these sculptures are and if you ever get a chance I highly recommend to visit the museum and take your time seeing all the exhibits.

Lastly we ended up passing by the Freemont Troll which was a quick stop and a pretty unique piece of art that was pretty neat.

Seattle was definitely a fun place to visit and I highly recommend to come up to the Pacific Northwest whenever you get a chance. We are hoping to visit the city again hopefully in the summer or early fall since we keep hearing the weather is just amazing.

The next post will cover the Canada leg of our trip!

As always happy adventures and keep pushing yourself!
