Hi, I’m Gus a 27 year old Texan living in Dallas Fort Worth. I am mildly obsessed with food, fitness and just traveling to as many places as possible. My goal with this blog is to document my journey to find a healthy balance between the two. I want to make a point on how living a healthy life shouldn’t mean sacrificing everything and failing to enjoy your life.
I originally started this blog to document my journey to running the Cowtown Marathon back in 2014 and I am happy to say while it wasn’t pretty I was able to finish the full marathon! After the marathon though I did start falling back int bad eating habits and just overall into the unhealthy college lifestyle that led me to graduate from college at a whopping 358 pounds. After starting to focus back on counting macros and making healthier choices I was able to get my weight back down to the 290-300 pound range and that is where I am at currently.
I have made major changes to this blog over the years and wanted to do a reset now to come back to the core of what this blog will be moving forward. It was a hard decision but I think a fresh start is often needed to realign yourself with what you truly matters to you and what moves you forward. I want to come back and focus on healthy eating, fitness goals and hope to take you all as I travel across the U.S. and abroad.
There are many goals for 2017 and those will be coming in a post soon, along with some cool new adventures!
